Parking
There is parking for 50 vehicles at the museum with further parking available at the nearby Kao Bussankan.
Tadao Ando, the architect who designed the museum, describes the approach to the museum thusly:
“Visitors park in the lot (Kao Bussankan) and walk up the road through a cluster of trees before reaching the museum. Climbing up the outdoor stairs offers a full view of the burial mounds surrounded by forest. Here, visitors can get a sense of the immense flow of time that connects the past with the present (the approach to the museum offers a dialogue with history).”
If you have time, we recommend that visitors park in the Kao Bussankan parking lot like Ando suggests and take a stroll through the forest while thinking about the history of the area (about a 10-minute walk).
